2009 Hocus Pocus Syrah
The wine that started it all. The Black Sheep Finds wine project started in 2005 as a result of bottling our Syrah under the Hocus Pocus label. The 2009 vintage is again a blend of cool climate Syrah (Biodynamically farmed Presidio Vineyard) and warmer climate Syrah (sustainably farmed Dierberg-Starlane Vineyard). I know it is a cliché, but this is my favorite vintage yet! Aged for 14 months in one-year-old barrels, balanced alcohol of 14.5%, 500 cases produced.
